These beautiful hats start off in the workshop of Juan Carlos from Puebla. Here, the hats are specifically designed with the highest quality, comfort and protection from rain, sun. Next, artists Edgar and Marisol, from San Agustín, Guerrero, and Maria Fernanda her husband Jonatan from Taxco paint the designs with mastered skills. Led by Creative Director, Zahra Darwish, they provide the artists with the highest quality paints and pay close attention to detail, color schemes, and textures. Next, Oscar, from León Guanajuato, makes beautiful leather belts to compliment the hats! They work with him to design the style and colors that work best with the patterns. Since the project began in the magical Pueblo of Taxco, Guerrero, the silver capital of the world, they worked with a local silver smith, Don Higinio & Doña Hortensia, to create a special charm with their logo ZD, with which some of the hats carry. Finally, the hats are sealed with acrylic spray to provide a treasure that lasts! Each hat is a one-of-a-kind piece handcrafted by multiple artisans, thus, you carry a little piece of each of them with you.

Please note: All hats are made by hand, therefore, small imperfections/differences in shape, size and color can happen and are part of the charm of a handmade product. This part of the handmade process is what makes these products unique and should not be seen as a fault. They will never affect the overall aesthetic of the product and its ability for use as intended.

Artesanias Zahra Darwish's objective is to support artisans in Mexico who have been directly affected during this global pandemic. This project has evolved since it first began and they are now supporting four different artisans who each specialize in their unique craft. Artesanias Zahra Darwish pays ethical wages by international standards, not by local, because they recognize that every family deserves to work towards improving their lives. They cover all medical expenses of the family of artisans. They also provide all materials needed, a safe working environment where partner artists can bring their families to work. When purchasing a hat you are not only getting a one of a kind piece, you are also supporting and keeping the artisans of Mexico working in their homes and with their families.


Exchange & Return Policy

If your order did not work out, we are happy to assist with an exchange or return for store credit via an in-store gift card. Please note we do not offer refunds!

Exchanges are eligible within 15 days from delivery--request must be made within this window. The item must be in the same condition that you received it: unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. Please inspect your order within 3 days of delivery and notify us immediately if the item is damaged, defective, or if there is an error in your order.

  • Items marked as "Final Sale"

To start the process, please fill out this exchange/return form. If your request is accepted, you will receive a shipping label via e-mail. All items must be dropped off at your nearest USPS office within 7 business days of receiving a return label. A processing fee of $10 ($20 for international orders) is required.

IMPORTANT

  • Exchanges are subject to stock availability.
  • No exchanges/returns will be accepted after 15 days of delivery. Requests will be honored based on date of inquiry. If you are unable to meet this suspense, please reach out to us at service@cadenacollective.com.
  • Damages and manufacturing defects must be reported within 3 days of delivery. 
  • The returned item must be in new condition. If it is soiled or damaged, it will not be approved.
  • Store credit will be issued via gift card and will be processed once the item has been returned.
