Paliacate Mexican Leather Crossbody Bag - Amarillo
Paliacate, originally from India, came to Mexico to be incorporated as an accessory in certain style clothing and take root in Mexican traditions. Paliacate, from the Spanish pal (for him) and Nahuatl yacatl (nose), is a large handkerchief with bright colors, with a particular pattern, that has different uses. It is used inside the shirt or guayabera to protect oneself from the heat and sun, as the agave jimador does, to protect the shirt collar from any stains, to dry sweat, and as a decoration and accessory in many regional costumes. A clear example of this are the Jarochos de Veracruz, where both he and she carry a paliacate. This scarf arrived approximately during the viceroyalty through a commercial route with an enormous cultural exchange from other continents, this is how silk and ceramics also reached us.
