The sarape is one of the garments of traditional Mexican men's clothing, although nowadays it has become widely used by men and women. This garment is made of cotton and wool, it is made in various regions of the country, and for this reason it is designated by different names such as tilma, charramo, jorongo, cobija and frazada. It is internationally recognized for its fine weaving technique, its design and its coloring. It wears elegantly either on foot or on horseback, folded over the shoulder. The sarape, symbol of Mexicanness was present throughout the history of Mexico.
