Fabián Pelayo, the mind and soul behind the brand, brings this philosophy to life through handmade jewelry pieces that spark introspection and thought-provoking conversations. Derived from the Latin word meaning "of man" or "human," Hominis captures the essence of this jewelry brand. Each piece in the Hominis collection is more than an accessory; it is a symbol of self-discovery and the rich tapestry of human experience. Rooted in the belief that life’s beauty lies in its moments and memories, Hominis designs are crafted to resonate with each wearer’s personal story, encouraging reflection and intentionality.

Embracing timeless principles of balance, harmony, and mindfulness, Pelayo infuses his artistic vision into jewelry that invites wearers to reconnect with themselves and the world around them. Whether worn as a daily reminder of strength, a marker of a milestone, or simply as an expression of individuality, each Hominis piece embodies authenticity, making it both deeply personal and universally meaningful. About The Hominis

The Hominis

Future Archaeology

The Hominis is a brand that transcends the boundaries of design and jewelry, rooted in the philosophy of Future Archaeology. Founded by artist Fabián Pelayo, The Hominis explores the intimate relationship between creator and material, a concept Pelayo defines as being an "Archaeologist of Matter." This artistic approach focuses not on the final object, but on the material’s journey, allowing it to guide the process. Each creation emerges as a dialogue between the artist and the material, forming a symbiotic narrative where neither exists in isolation.

La Naturaleza de la Materia

Pelayo's creative vision is deeply intertwined with La Naturaleza de la Materia—the Nature of Matter—a philosophical exploration of existence and interconnectedness. This approach invites a reinterpretation of the material world, uncovering the beauty that lies in its raw, unaltered state. By connecting with the essence of the material, Pelayo captures its innate reality, revealing the beauty of imperfection and complexity that mirrors life itself.

Natural Textures

Rejecting the modern design ethos of streamlined functionality, The Hominis seeks to reframe our understanding of objects. Inspired by the Brutalist aesthetic, Pelayo's work embraces asymmetry and imperfection, drawing from nature to propose a new minimalism rooted in organic forms and symbolic use. Each piece is a gesture—a raw and honest expression of existence that reminds us of our shared evolution and primal origins.

At The Hominis, the objects created are not merely functional or ornamental but serve as tangible links to the past, present, and future—artifacts of our human and natural experience.
