    Artist Technique

    The journey of these exquisite pieces begins with the discovery of raw quartz, meticulously sourced by skilled miners from the regions of Queretaro, Guanajuato, Sonora, and Veracruz. This raw quartz is then entrusted to the seasoned craftsmanship of Don Crecencio, a revered lapidarist with over four decades of experience. Collaborating with Tita for a decade, his expertise and profound understanding of quartz have been passed down to his nephews, who work alongside him.

    The transformation of raw quartz into unique shapes is a laborious process requiring immense skill and patience. Once the quartz achieves its desired form, it is carefully handed over to Tita Lopez, the mastermind behind these captivating designs. Infusing each piece with intricate beading, Tita adds the final flourish, whether it be a heart or a skull motif.

    For this collection, an additional skilled artisan uses a traditional method that has been passed down for generations: martillado. This technique requires the artisan to use hammers of different shapes, sizes, and weights, depending on the alloy, the object's size, or the work phase. In addition, stone chisels are used to outline and adorn the object's final shape. This creates the gold flame that will be added to the quartz heart.

    After undergoing Tita's meticulous work, each piece is lovingly cleansed and prepared for delivery. This journey is imbued with reverence, love, and an abundance of knowledge and skill.
